TeamLET™
Listen and Establish Trust in the provider-staff-patient Team
TeamLET is a model for improving primary care teamlets (providers and staff) communication, problem solving, and clinic efficiency. The program includes an 8-hour training for medical/dental assistants and other support staff, followed by a 4-hour joint training of providers and assistants. The curriculum includes fundamentals of culturally responsive care, fundamentals of communication, the SBIRR framework for communication, huddles, patient engagement, and clinic schedule and flow management. The active learning program involves lecture, role plays, scenarios, individual and group reflection, and written materials and checklists. Follow up support is provided during implementation via site visits and reinforcement trainings.
